The Third Overseas Chinese Talent Conference for Development is taking place at the Fuzhou Strait International Conference and Exhibition Center from Dec 1 to 3. Under the theme "Uniting Overseas Chinese Talent, Forging a New Era of Innovation", the event is bringing together thousands of overseas Chinese and other guests from around the world.

As a renowned hometown of overseas Chinese, Fuzhou has more than 4.6 million natives living abroad in over 170 countries and regions, along with nearly 2 million returned overseas Chinese and their relatives. Guided by the concept of "Great Overseas Chinese Affairs", the city has elevated advanced its efforts from kinship-based ties to a coordinated strategic approach.

Anhui province serves as the guest province of honor at the conference. The industry and talent matchmaking session, its main event, is centered on advancing innovation and entrepreneurship among new-generation overseas Chinese through exhibitions of scientific and technological achievements, briefings on talent policies and regional development, and the release of talent demands.

Tongji University, one of the conference's guest universities of honor, will present its latest research across five technological sectors, including the Tongji, China's first intelligent 2,000-metric-ton scientific research vessel.
